Happy Mother's Day to all of the Mothers out there. Yesterday was a fun day, a day to spend with my own mother and let her know how much I love her. She truly is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. We give her a hard time that her bedtime is around 8:30 these days, but I think I've finally figured it out. For 29 years now she has been running on motherhood overload. She has been running at 110% for 18-24 hours a day for almost 29 years now. It's finally catching up to her and she's just now getting to rest a teeny bit. I wish I could say that she was in full rest mode, but unfortunately I probably still demand too much of her time, but am soooooo appreciative of all the things she helps me with and all the support she gives on a daily basis. I can't think of someone who is more loving and understanding. I have given her such a hard time throughout the years, mostly in jest, however, if I could be anything like my mom my kids will be very, very lucky.
Yesterday was also a day filled with contemplation. Josh and I look forward to the day when we can have kids and bring Simone more siblings. We look forward to and are excited for that day. Our friends Erin and Aaron gave their parents a fun gift yesterday to their parents, announcing the birth of their second child. I think my parents were secretly longing for the same gift from us.....all I can say is.....all in good time. Maybe once we actually have our own house completed to bring a child home to! Speaking of houses, we'll post more pictures of ours soon. The progress is fun and it really is getting close. We hope you can all come see it someday soon!
