Yesterday after school had ended one of my soccer players moseyed into my room. We started talking and she told me a random, yet funny story.
She said, "you know this year is my parent's 20th anniversary. First they decided to go visit the Pyramids in Egypt, for their anniversary. Eventually plans got changed and they were going to spend a long weekend in Florida. Somehow all they thought they would be able to manage was going out for a night out. Well last night was their anniversary and they had dinner with us kids at the house."
We both laughed and then I thought about my last Valentines, which wasn't all too different.
Last Valentine's Day we had plans to go eat at Broders, my favorite Italian restaurant. Somehow on the way home from work (I think we were both exhausted) we decided we would get LeeAnn Chin take-out instead. Suddenly Josh called me and that changed to me making dinner for his home teachees who were home, sick. All too quickly our plans went from a nice evening out, to me making dinner to bring to someone. I really didn't mind, but it is funny to look back on.
I wonder how fun life would really be if all our grand plans really worked out? :)
