Happy Mother's Day to the best Moms and Grandmothers!
I'm not sure what Josh and I did right or how we got so lucky, but we have been blessed with the best mothers and grandmothers in the world. Too often we don't tell them how much we appreciate them, love them and how grateful we are for all they do. We hope to express all of those things today.
First to my mom: On a daily basis my mom demonstrates that she is a "supermom". I truly know that she has superhuman powers and am still hoping that I inherited that gene. Take for example this past Monday: My mom watched/loved two of her grandkids in the morning, while running errands for a daughter still at home. She then raced to work. After work she met the Orkin man at our house to help us with some debugging problems. She then raced to a friend's house to put finishing touches on my sister's prom dress. Who was her day based around? Her children and grandchildren. My mom loves us unconditionally, and shows it everyday through her actions, worries and words. We love you so much mom! We look forward to the day that we can live just down the road again and see you much more often!
To my mother-in-law: Josh will be the first to say that he didn't show his appreciation for his mom as much as he should have when he was a kid, as adults, we still don't do an adequate job. Karen does so much for us. Karen has always supported our decisions, made us feel loved and helped us in our daily lives. So many times she has driven to Hinckley and back so that we could enjoy a weekend with Simone. Many times Karen seems to know the exact moment that she is needed and has shown up with lunch while we worked on the house, or she has been a break from a crying baby while Josh and I got out of the house for 30 minutes. Karen also has a talent that I admire. I always struggle to find meaningful gifts for people. For some reason I get stuck on the cliche bath wash and candle motiff. Karen always has a knack for getting you something so meaningful, fun, memorable or even something that you need, that you didn't even know you needed. Again, we appreciate who you are and all you do for us Karen.
To my mom's mom: My Grandma Johnston is a strong, loving and fun woman. I hope I get her aging genes and I hope that I can come up with as many fun/funny sayings that my Grandma Johnston has.
To Karen's mom: Grandma Stark has truly been a second mother to Josh. She has loved, supported and stood by him just as his mom has. She has taken him in and loved him immensely his whole life. I am grateful that I have been able to spend good time with Grandma Stark. There are so many qualities that Josh admires about her, namely her work ethic, her cooking ability, her devotedness and how easily she opens her arms, house and love to anyone in need. We love Grandma Stark and look forward to seeing her next week as well.

You also already have many of the qualities you mentioned that you hope you get, and you have already mastered them. Hope you guys had a great day! Have fun in Minnesota this week.
